The Blue Hawaiians' show at The Lava Lounge on 3/25 was a resounding success. Their long awaited return was enjoyed by a full house of old and new fans, some of which traveled all the way from San Diego. By the end of the evening, the bar was topped with dancing beauties, including Lava owner Michelle Marini, and dear friends Robin and Patty. Thanks to The Mai Kai Gents who opened the show with their special brand of traditional Hawaiian music complete with an authentic Hula honey.
And of course a very special thanks to the staff of The Lava Lounge who always extend the warmest hospitality. Michelle, Hiko, Chris, and Alex...Mahaho.
The week before, The Blue Hawaiians played a morning press event at The Hollywood Bowl that announced the upcoming season and details of The Bowl's remodeling. Though they started to play at 9:00am to empty tables, by the time they finished there was a full crowd of reporters, who enthusiastically applauded the band. The Director of The Bowl extended a special thanks to the band. Let's hope this may lead to an opportunity for The Blue Hawaiians to play The Hollywood Bowl during the scheduled season. Special thanks to Paul Geller and Joanna Reese for making this happen.
Site updates within the next week:

A video of Jetpack's "THE FURY," performed live, from their debut show at The Roxy some years ago when they opened for Dick Dale. Shot by dear friend Andrew Orth, who just shot L.A. Guns at the Key Club. Check out the footage at: www.andreworth.com
More on the way...stay tuned!
