The World Famous Lava Lounge in Hollywood will be closing at the end of February 2007.
The Blue Hawaiians will perform one last time at the club where they first started 13 years ago on FEBRUARY 23rd.

E-POLOGIES FROM PASCAL RECORDS
Due to an unforseen server glitch that filled my mail account with a load of SPAM, messages sent to Pascal Records were bounced back to the sender as undeliverable.
In addition, I was unable to update this front page BLOG with the news of The Blue Hawaiians show at The Palms Hotel in Las Vegas on 7/25.
The problem has been corrected. Plans are underway to remodel the Pascal Records website with new releases and many more goodies.

****THE BLUE HAWAIIANS XMAS SHOW****
The Blue Hawaiians will be rockin' in the holidays with their annual Christmas show on December 17th at The Lava Lounge in Hollywood. They will be performing selections from their CD "Christmas on Big Island" as well as other signature material from their catalog. Michelle and the gang at The Lava really go all out with the decorations, so don't miss the festivities!
****LIVE AT THE LAVA LOUNGE 2****
The CD release party was a resounding success, with many folks getting advance copies of the disc. The CD will be in stores on November 15th, plenty of time to pick-up as the perfect stocking stuffer.
Phil Dirt of Reverb Central has posted a reveiw giving it 4 stars and calling it "A spectacular and thoroughly original album."
Three weeks into our college radio promotion we have 82 stations that have added it to their playlists, with extremely positive feedback from the folks that are spinning it.

*****THE BLUE HAWAIIANS CD RELEASE PARTY*****
The Blue Hawaiians will be celebrating the release of their new CD "LIVE AT THE LAVA LOUNGE 2" on Saturday October 1st at The Lava Lounge in Hollywood. The band will be performing live and we will preview portions of the band's upcoming DVD.
LIVE AT THE LAVA LOUNGE 2 marks the ten year anniversary of the recording/release of the band's first full length release LIVE AT THE LAVA LOUNGE. LAVA 2 was recorded over two rainy nights in February and features 11 tracks that exemplify the band's ability to take their music to a new level, in a way that only their live performances can.
LIVE AT THE LAVA LOUNGE 2 will be available in stores on November 15th. Plans are underway to bring The Blue Hawaiians out for a series of regional shows to promote this release. In addition, we are preparing a radio promotion campaign to help further spread the music of this amazing band.
Over the next month or so, we will be doing a major overhaul on the Pascal Records site to include more info, pictures, and content.
Thanks to all for the patience and support, and hopefully we'll bring you more great releases from The Blue Hawaiians and others as well.

Dear Loyal Blue Hawaiian Fans:
Obviously there are a number of you that do check-in for these sporadic updates. This was evidenced by the huge turnout to the Thalia Street show in Laguna.
Hopefully you die-hard fans will get this update on the 5/27 show at The Lava Lounge. Originally planned as a CD release party for LIVE AT THE LAVA LOUNGE 2, we have been confronted with the reality that the recording of those shows is SO AMAZING, we have no other option but to take the time and effort to make this release the absolute best it can be.
The Blue Hawaiians will be performing May 27th at The Lava Lounge in Hollywood.
There will be an official release party for the CD before September.

The follow-up to the self-titled debut is complete, artwork done, mastered and is currently being prepped for release.
The title of this second effort is BEYOND THE CURRENT and charts new musical territories with an even balance of vocal and instrumental excursions.

Pascal Records is proud to announce a very special event to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of LIVE AT THE LAVA LOUNGE...the sequel.
The Blue Hawaiians will be playing and recording LIVE AT THE LAVA LOUNGE 2 (working title), Feb. 10th & 11th, 2005 at The Lava Lounge in Hollywood.
Release date for this historical performance is set for April 15, 2005 (the 10 year anniversary of their first live recording/release).
The band will be performing material unavailable on any previous release, as well as live versions of some of their studio material, and new songs as well. The shows will be filmed for an upcoming DVD release that will also include footage culled from 7 years of Sunday nights.

.....magic box at the dume room thursday evening...10 pm into the night....the dume room is the place where the outlaws of malibu hang low fi ...eclectic and unpredictable.....musically we are recording this week ...what you will here are concepts developed for performance...when in the studio....tempos and moods will deepen and a more reflective vibe will emerge.....
.....norton wisdom will be performing his mastery as a live painter...it always amazes me to watch him paint as i play the drums....those of you who have experienced his surreal images morph from one dream to another can share this joy of mine....if you havnt .....treat yourself to whats hi in the low fi....the extraordinary guitar work of glen lynsky will fill the room with an atmosphere of lucid and exotic sounds.......

The Blue Hawaiians will be playing at The Lava Lounge in Hollywood this coming Memorial Day.
Maxwell's Magic Box performed with performance painter Norton Wisdom last night in Long Beach. The music and visuals captivated a full house, and generated excitement for upcoming MB events. Tom Maxwell & Glewn Lynskey played material from the upcoming second album.
Norton Wisdom worked his paint alchemy with a theme of Goddess worship. A special treat offered was the availability of stunning color prints signed by the master himself. Plans are underway to create a very special limited edition of BLISS OF A MADMAN, with packaging created and overseen by Wisdom. Each piece will be a unique piece of original art. This edition will be remastered as a SA/Hybrid CD, offering an enhanced audio quality on SA CD players, yet still be playable on Standard CD players. More news on a release date as it occurs.

The Blue Hawaiians' show at The Lava Lounge on 3/25 was a resounding success. Their long awaited return was enjoyed by a full house of old and new fans, some of which traveled all the way from San Diego. By the end of the evening, the bar was topped with dancing beauties, including Lava owner Michelle Marini, and dear friends Robin and Patty. Thanks to The Mai Kai Gents who opened the show with their special brand of traditional Hawaiian music complete with an authentic Hula honey.
And of course a very special thanks to the staff of The Lava Lounge who always extend the warmest hospitality. Michelle, Hiko, Chris, and Alex...Mahaho.
The week before, The Blue Hawaiians played a morning press event at The Hollywood Bowl that announced the upcoming season and details of The Bowl's remodeling. Though they started to play at 9:00am to empty tables, by the time they finished there was a full crowd of reporters, who enthusiastically applauded the band. The Director of The Bowl extended a special thanks to the band. Let's hope this may lead to an opportunity for The Blue Hawaiians to play The Hollywood Bowl during the scheduled season. Special thanks to Paul Geller and Joanna Reese for making this happen.
